7-Day Tanzania Safari | Serengeti & Ngorongoro

7-Day Tanzania Safari | Serengeti & Ngorongoro

MID_RANGE

# **7-Day Tanzania Safari | Serengeti & Ngorongoro** This 7-Day Tanzania Safari | Serengeti & Ngorongoro explores Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park. The itinerary includes six nights, a private 4x4 safari vehicle and flexible game drives planned around wildlife activity, road conditions and your personal interests. The journey begins with one night near Lake Manyara, followed by two nights in the Serengeti, one night near the Ngorongoro Crater and two nights in Tarangire. This well-paced route introduces you to four contrasting ecosystems without trying to cover too many destinations in seven days. ## ## **Four Distinct Tanzania Safari Experience**s Your first game drive takes place in Lake Manyara National Park, situated below the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park’s groundwater forest, open grasslands and lakeshore habitats support elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, baboons and varied birdlife. Lake Manyara is historically associated with tree-climbing lions, although sightings cannot be guaranteed. From Lake Manyara, travel through the Ngorongoro highlands towards Serengeti National Park. Depending on your departure time, road conditions and the location of your camp, lunch may be served en route or after arrival. The changing scenery makes this transfer part of the safari experience, with opportunities to see wildlife as you enter the Serengeti. Two nights in the Serengeti provide an afternoon game drive on arrival and a complete day for exploring its grasslands, rivers, woodland and rocky kopjes. The park supports lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, spotted hyenas and large herds of plains game throughout the year. The Serengeti is also home to the Great Wildebeest Migration, but the herds move through different regions according to seasonal rainfall and grazing conditions. Migration sightings therefore depend on your travel dates and the location of your accommodation. When planning your journey, we will recommend the most suitable Serengeti region for the season rather than promise a wildlife event that cannot be guaranteed. After the Serengeti, continue to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for an overnight stay near the crater. An optional visit to Olduvai Gorge can be arranged along the way. The following morning, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater when wildlife is active and temperatures are cooler. The crater’s grasslands, forests and wetlands support lions, buffaloes, hippos, spotted hyenas, wildebeest, zebras and numerous bird species. It is also one of Tanzania’s better areas for the possibility of seeing an endangered black rhino, although every wildlife encounter remains a matter of timing and good fortune. Your journey concludes with two nights near Tarangire National Park. This allows more time to explore beyond the busier entrance areas and gives you a complete day among the park’s baobab trees, riverine habitats and open plains. Tarangire is particularly rewarding during the dry season, when elephants and other animals gather around the Tarangire River and remaining water sources. ### **A Private Safari Planned Around You** Because this is a **privately guided Northern Tanzania safari**, the vehicle and daily schedule are reserved for your party. You will not have to follow the timetable or interests of unrelated guests. Your guide can recommend early departures when predators are more active, remain longer at productive sightings and adjust the pace around your family, photography interests or preferred style of travel. Photographers have more freedom to wait for favourable light and animal behaviour, while couples and families can enjoy a more personal and relaxed experience. Rather than rushing between every reported sighting, the guiding approach focuses on reading animal behaviour and spending meaningful time in productive wildlife areas. This creates opportunities to understand what is happening—not simply record which animals were seen. ### **Accommodation and Seasonal Planning** The package includes comfortable mid-range camps or lodges near each destination, subject to availability. Your confirmed quotation will identify every property and clearly show the meal plan, park fees, conservation fees, private transport, game drives, guiding services and applicable taxes. Luxury accommodation upgrades can also be arranged. This **seven-day Tanzania safari package** operates throughout the year, but the route can be adjusted according to the season. From January to March, travellers interested in the wildebeest calving period may benefit from spending more time around Ndutu and Southern Serengeti. Between approximately July and October, travellers following the migration may require accommodation in Northern Serengeti. During the green season, the landscapes become lush, birdlife is abundant and some areas receive fewer visitors. In the drier months, wildlife often gathers closer to permanent water, making **Tarangire especially productive.** ### Is This Tanzania Safari Right for You? This itinerary is well suited to first-time safari travellers, couples, families, small private groups and wildlife photographers. It combines Tanzania’s most celebrated wildlife areas with enough time to appreciate the differences between them. With four major destinations, six nights, private transport and seasonally informed planning, the safari provides a balanced introduction to Tanzania’s northern circuit without turning every day into a long transfer. Plan your private Tanzania safari with WildPortraits Safaris. Share your travel dates, group size and interests, and we will recommend the appropriate Serengeti region, accommodation and pace for your journey.
