3 Days Endangered Rhino Seekers Safari explores the land of black and white rhinos conservation. It is one of east Africa’s biggest rhino conservation areas. The ol pejeta conservancy is located between Kenya’s highest mountain, Mount Kenya and the Aberdare ranges. It is famous for being the home of the last two Northern white rhinos, Fatu and Najin which are both females. It is one of the best places to observe and learn more about the endangered rhinos. 3 Days Endangered Rhino Seekers Safari gives you the opportunity to meet and feed Baraka the black rhino or visit the endangered species boma where you learn more about the Northern white rhinos as you watch them up close. The boma also hosts two black rhinos, Jackson’s hartebeest, grevys zebras as well as six southern white rhinos. On these safari package you can also ride with the rhino. There are morning and evening horse rides in the endangered species boma. Olpajeta conservancy also has a chimpanzee sanctuary. Kenya wildlife services and The Jane Goodall institute formed a joint alliance and in 1993 established the sanctuary to act as a refuge for orphaned and confiscated chimpanzees. The big cats of Africa call this conservancy in Kenya’s Laikipia county home. During your game drives you will come across lions, cheetahs and the elusive leopard. If you stay at the Serena sweet waters tented camp you can enjoy watching wildlife from the front pouch of your tent as wildlife comes to the water hole. The endangered wild dogs are also occasionally sighted and there are numerous dens of their arch rivals, the spotted hyena. The equator cuts through the conservancy, you get to a light at the equator sign for photos with the magnificent Mount Kenya in the back ground. Due to its private status, it is possible to do night game drives at the Olpajeta conservancy. This is not something you get to do in most of the other park and reserves. This gives you the opportunity to experience safari under the cover of darkness. Discover the nocturnal species as they emerge from their day hideouts. Some of this will include aardvarks, caracals, bat eared foxes, white tailed mongooses and lions as they are more active at night
