6 Days African Cats and Rhino Trail Safari takes you to the private Solio rhino sanctuary. This is a safari package you are guaranteed to see Africa’s big five. Solio is one of the best places in rhino conservation and here at Solio you get both the black and white rhinos. You also get to see the big cats and the Mount Kenya towers in the back ground. 6 Days African Cats and Rhino Trail Safar explores the cat families of Solio giving you perfect photography opportunities. After spending time at the Solio rhino sanctuary our 6 Days African Cats and Rhino Trail Safari take us through the Aberdares National park famed for its landscapes and waterfalls, the place where the queen came in as a princess and left as the queen. We encounter the African elephant as we ascend this beautiful park, big herds of buffalos, hyenas, waterbucks reedbucks and mountain bush backs are all to be found as you take in the breath taking landscapes. We exit Aberdares National park at Mutubio gate and drive to Naivasha which offers out door safari activities like walking, watching wildlife from the back of a horse. The horse ride particularly gets you up-close to animals for example the giraffes and other herbivores as they see the horse as just part of them. Enjoy a boat ride watching hippos and fish eagles hunting for fish. Get amazing shots of the pied kingfisher as he hovers looking for a protein snack. After enjoying the great outdoors its time to hit the road and head to the homes of the big cats of Africa, the Masai Mara. The greatest wildlife conservation area. The home of the big cats, lions’ leopards cheetahs, the small cats like the serval. This is also the place where the great wildebeest migration takes place with magical river crossings at the Mara river as the hop and jump avoiding the hungry jaws of the crocodiles.

Day 1 Nairobi to Solio
Leave Nairobi in the morning and head to Solio ranch nestled between the Aberdare ranges and the snowcapped mount Kenya. In Solio ranch the rhino conservation is a success story and both the black and white rhinos wander around in plenty. Other animals such as lions, leopards’ zebras and other herbivores abound. After the full afternoon game drive, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Solio to Lake Naivasha via Aberdares
After breakfast we leave Solio, Nyeri area and get into the Aberdare ranges locally known as Nyandarua ranges meaning the dry hide of a cow. We drive through the different levels of mountain vegetation as we come across animals like the giant forest hog, elephants, hyenas, cape buffalos’ duikers’ bushbucks and if lucky melanistic serval cat if not the rare melanistic leopard. We make stops for the enchanting landscapes as we ascend the ranges. Magnificent water falls like the Chania falls and Kenya’s biggest water fall, the karuru falls are to be found here and we get to explore them. The queen’s caves is not to be by passed as its not only breathtaking but it’s a story unto itself as it played as a hiding spot for Kenya’s freedom fighters the Mau Mau. It was also used by queen Elizabeth for picnic and the Magura falls makes it even a more magnificent spot. We later exit the park and drive for approximately 2 hrs. to Lake Naivasha for overnight

Day 3 Naivasha to Masai Mara
After an early breakfast we head out for a boat ride, about one hour in the only fresh water lake in the Kenyan rift valley that is home to hippos and over 400 bird species. Get pied kingfishers in action, the African fish eagle busy looking for the all-important protein source, the fish. Common carp is the most common fish here. After the boat ride, we go for a horse ride or nature walk depending on your preference at the crescent island or the sanctuary farm. You can also do a bike ride as you watch wildlife, you will have a guide with you. Later drive to the Masai Mara with lunch on the way and reach in time for the evening game drive. Check in to the lodge/camp for dinner after the game drive

Day 4 and 5 Full Days spent at the Masai Mara

Day 6 Masai Mara back to Nairobi
