Best Tanzania Africa Safari 5 Days

Best Tanzania Africa Safari 5 Days Safari package takes you on a Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater adventure safari.

Lake Manyara National Park Safari

Experience the essence of a Lake Manyara on the Best Tanzania Africa Safari 5 Days, where the primary attraction, the tree climbing lions typically remains elusive near the park entrance.

As you venture into the initial stretch of the northern woodland, witness its lush greenery dominated by baboon troops; keep an eye out for blue monkeys amidst the lively scene. The lake’s northernmost tip reveals a captivating hippo pool, while the floodplains deeper within host a dynamic mix of wildebeest, buffaloes, and zebras.

The slender acacia belt tracing the lakeshore becomes the prime location for encountering the world renown tree climbing lions on the 5 day Tanzania safari. Imagine the awe of gazing up into the branches of an acacia tree to find a lioness, a majestic male, or an entire lion family staring right back at you. While glimpses of lions in lower tree branches can occasionally be witnessed in the Serengeti, Lake Manyara National Park uniquely offers consistent opportunities for such extraordinary sightings. Although the sight of a lion in a tree is not guaranteed, the knowledge that they might be there adds an extra layer of excitement to every wildlife drive.

Much more to the tree climbing lions, Lake Manyara’s elephants have been subjects of study since the 1970s, and the park’s high elephant densities make it nearly certain to encounter these magnificent creatures, often in big herds.

For vivid and captivating narratives about Lake Manyara’s lions and elephants, delve into Peter Matthiessen’s 1971 masterpiece, “The Tree Where Man Was Born,” which provides some of the most memorable descriptions of these remarkable creatures in their natural habitat.

The Serengeti National Park

Best Tanzania Africa Safari 5 Days then takes you to the world famous Serengeti National Park. The endless plains are usually teeming with wildlife. This is home to over a million wildebeest most of the year. Due to their big numbers the wildebeest and zebras keep migrating since no one place can sustain them for long. During the short rainy season in November and December the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June they return up north of Serengeti. This circle of life is completely dependent on the yearly rainfalls and the locations of the herds may vary from year to year but your guide will know where to find the animals and where to see them best. The Serengeti also has a high number of predators. Big prides of lion that you sometimes get on the kopjes rekindling memories for the lion king movie. The fastest land mammal, the cheetah, is also found in this plains and they provide the ideal conditions for the quick acceleration as they go after their favorite meal, the thompsons gazelle. The ever elusive leopards are spotted here too either lazily hanging from an African sausage tree or stealthy stalking an impala. Elephants buffaloes giraffes are not to be overlooked either and the fact that this park has diverse habitats its able to accommodate so many different species. The bird life is also prolific too so the bird watchers are not left out.
