Best time to visit the Tarangire National Park
During the dry season, June to November, Tarangire national park day is amazing. We have a migration into the Tarangire National park as most of the country is dry. River Tarangire acts as a saviour during this time thus attracting large numbers of wildebeests, elephants, zebras, hartebeest, bufalloes and gazelles. November to May is the rainy season and the zebras and wildebeest move towards the North western area dispersing into the Masai steppe all the way to Lake Manyara.
Lake Manyara National Park
7 Days Best Safari in Tanzania Africa also brings you to the land of tree climbing lions, Lake Manyara national park. The park is characterised by acacia woodlands, savannah grasslands, a forested area. This safari gem in Tanzania also plays host to big numbers of elephants making it one of the best places to encounter these gentle giants. The Lake Manyara itself extends for 50kms along the base of the 500 metres high escarpment of the Great Rift valley. The rock face is home to the rock adapted klipspringer and the dikdiks. The Lake is shallow and salty making it ideal for the algae to grow thus attracting thousands of flamingos that paint its shore pink. Lions sleep in the acacia trees, an unusual behaviour that they have been forced to adapt due to their environment. Giraffes and elephants feed on the mahogany and acacia woodlands as vervet and blue monkeys feed from the canopy. Birdlife here is prolific too with crowned eagles, hornbills, crested guinea fowls and a variety of water fowls .
The Ngorongoro Crater
Tanzania has one of the largest unbroken calderas in the world and it is known as the Ngorongoro crater. The name comes from the Masai community which they liken to the sound of the cattle bell, (Ngo ngo). In 1979 the area become a UNESCO world heritage site.
